There are some really awesome benefits to polyester fabric but there are also some down sides. Here are some important points for you to consider:
Fabric Softener Not Recommended
Fabric softeners can be damaging to your polys. The chemicals clog the fibers which reduces the moisture wicking properties and increases odors.
We recommend always washing your 100% polyester t-shirts without any fabric softener or dryer sheets to retain the best moisture wicking performance.
Screen Printing Recommended
While we do offer no minimum direct-to-film printing on polyester shirts, solid and large sized designs can have a thicker, plastic transfer feel.
Screen printing will feel much lighter and more breathable, so we highly recommend choosing screen printing when possible, which has a 6 piece minimum order.
Snags Easier
Due to the nature of the garment, snags are very hard to avoid on 100% polyester tees, especially if they are not snag-proofed.
Most snags actually occur during the washing cycle, so we recommend turning your tees inside out when washing to reduce risk. Polyester also pills more easily.
You May Feel Warmer When Wearing
Polyester is a less breathable than cotton so it tends to feel a bit warmer when wearing it as the air flow just is not the same.
Opting for a cotton/poly blend or a tri-blend will make you feel cooler when wearing, but anything with cotton will absorb your sweat making you feel "wet".
