Customer Spotlight of the Week: Safe Transylvania
Broken Arrow T-Shirt Printing and Embroidery is proud to make custom T-shirts for non-profits like SAFE Transylvania.
SAFE Transylvania is a North Carolina community leader in eliminating domestic and sexual abuse through support, prevention and outreach. The non-profit organization is located in Brevard, North Carolina and provides safety, advocacy and support services for abuse survivors including women, children, and men who live in Transylvania County.
Ending domestic and sexual abuse builds stronger families, economies and communities. SAFE wants to ensure that all victims of domestic and sexual abuse are treated with dignity and respect and get access to the opportunities and services they need to create long-lasting changes that will result in a life free of domestic and sexual abuse.
“Last year, SAFE helped 342 women, children, and men find help and hope,” says SAFE’s marketing director Cary Callahan. “That’s up by 100 people since 2017.” SAFE has two retail stores in Brevard. All store profits go back into operating Stacey’s House, which provides emergency housing for women and children in the Transylvania. SAFE Interiors sells classic furnishings and antiques. SAFE Attic sells gently used clothing, T-shirts, shoes, and accessories. To donate to either store, email SAFE at info@safebrevard.com. Even if you don’t live in Transylvania County, there is help available for you. A national network of community-based rape crisis centers are in every U.S. state and territory. The Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN), organizes the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline. Sexual Assault Awareness Month is an annual campaign to raise awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it. The campaign theme, I Ask, champions the message that asking for consent is a healthy, normal, and necessary part of everyday interactions.
