Discharging with Waterbase Inks
Discharging with waterbase inks is a unique process that is a bit different than traditional screen printing with plastisol inks. The discharge part of discharging with waterbase refers to discharing the color from the shirts, where the design will be printed. By discharging the shirt, the waterbase inks can sink into the shirt fibers, giving a super soft feeling print. Discharging with waterbase inks gives a much softer overall feel than traditional screen printing with plastisol inks.
Traditional Screen Printings
There are some big differences with discharging with waterbase inks and traditional screen printing with plastisol inks. First, discharging with waterbase inks will give a super soft print, but the print will not be as vibrant as you would have with plastisol inks. Discharging with waterbase inks is great for vintage looking designs. Traditional screen printing also allows for specialty inks like foil, glitter, and high density. Traditional screen printing can also print on any type of shirt. With discharging with waterbase inks, the shirts need to be at least 70% cotton.
