Pima cotton is a species of cotton, with fibers that are longer and stronger than upland cotton – which is what most of us are used to. ONNO’s pima is grown mostly on BCI certified farms. BCI stands for Better Cotton Initiative and is an interesting alternative to the organic standard. Because BCI standards are easier to adapt and becoming coming widespead – they may be having a bigger impact on decreasing chemical use than the organic standard – according to our math anyway.
