Cotton or Polyester Tees?
The most popular fabric for under uniform army shirts is either 100% polyester or a cotton/poly blend. Polyester will be moisture wicking, your shirt will feel "dry". Cotton is more breathable though but absorbs sweat and can feel heavy. You can mix and match so all of your unit's members can have what they like.

Polyster is a material that will wick away the moisture from your body with the intent to keep you feeling dry. Some people find that polyester does not breath as well so they feel warmer when wearing it. .
Cotton is highly breathable, but it will absorb sweat from your body so can sometimes feel heavy or wet. Since it is more breathable, you may feel cooler when wearing it.
A poly/cotton blend will give you the benefit of both the breathability and the moisture wicking properties.
