Embroidery requires a backing material called stabilizer to keep the stitching looking clean and professional. Because most women’s t-shirts are lighter weight, that backing can sometimes feel noticeable or less comfortable when worn.
Without proper stabilization, embroidery can also start to look wavy after washing as the fabric shifts or shrinks. If you have your heart set on embroidery, we recommend choosing a heavier weight t-shirt (around 6 oz or more) to help support the stitching and improve the overall result.
