Review our guide below to find out the best quality print method for your logo or design, and discover how high-quality ink and finishing touches like woven neck labels or custom hang tags can give your shirts a polished, professional appearance.
No Minimum Embroidery
Choose embroidery if you want a polished, professional look. Stitching gives logos texture and depth, and works well on every button-up material type and texture. Embroidery is ideal for small logos placed on the chest, sleeve or upper back.
No Minimum DTF Printing
This method can reproduce gradients, small text, and complex artwork that embroidery sometimes can’t. A good option for smaller orders, DTF prints sit on top of the fabric which results in a lighterweight print than embroidery.
Screen Printing
This method is great bold, durable prints and is typically most cost effective on bulk orders. Choose screen printing if you want a larger printed design such as a back or down the arm sleeve. Textured fabrics, lke flannel, will impact print quality.

Custom Button Up Shirts — Frequently Asked Questions
Most people use the terms button-up and button-down interchangeably. But technically speaking, they’re not the same thing.
A button-up shirt is any shirt that buttons all the way up the front. A button-down shirt is a specific type of button-up that has small buttons on the collar points to keep the collar in place.
So while people often use the terms the same way, the real difference comes down to the collar.
Denim shirts will tend to be more structured, or stiff feeling. Chambray shirts provide a similar look to denim, but will generally be lighter and softer.
No! Sewing on top of the pocket would actually sew your pocket shut. You can embroider above the pocket or in another location like the right chest. We are able to print on the pocket, so choose that method if you love that print location.
Embroidery is the most popular customization method for button-up shirts. These shirts tend to be a more elevated product, and embroidery adds that professional, high-quality finishing touch that businesses usually want for logos.
Printing can still be a great option, especially for larger graphics like full back designs. This is particularly common on flannel button-down shirts or more casual styles where a bigger design makes sense.
Absolutely! We offer both no-minimum embroidery and no-minimum direct-to-film (DTF) printing, so you can order just one or two shirts if that's all you need. That also means you have multiple decoration options depending on your design.
Fun fact: very few companies offer no-minimum embroidery, but we do — making it easy to order custom button-up shirts for small teams, samples, or individual pieces.
